Jamie Schultz, son of Bert and Anne
Schultz of Huntington Woods.
Melissa is a registered dietician and

works at the University of Michigan
in Ann Arbor. Jamie is a practicing
dentist in the Southfield-Farmington
Hills area.
A January wedding is planned at
Temple Israel.

Barnholtz-Sloan

Jill Suzanne Barnholtz, daughter of
Martin and Barbara Barnholtz of Creve
Coeur, Mo., and Dr. Andrew Edward
Sloan, son of Richard and Sheila Sloan
of Bloomfield Hills, announce their
engagement.
Jill is the granddaughter of Louie
Barnholtz, the late Leo Barnholtz and
the late Sol Levinson and Mary Cohn.
Andrew is the grandson of Sylvia
Starman, the late Joseph Starman and
the late Saul and Hattie Sloan.
Jill is a graduate of Parkway North
High School. She received a bachelor of
science degree in mathematics from the
University of Florida in 1994 and her
master of science degree in statistics
from the University ofTexas at Austin

in 1995. She will receive her Ph.D. in
statistical genetics/biostatistics from the
University of Texas M.D. Anderson
Cancer Center and the University of
Texas School of Public Health, both in
Houston, in February.
Andrew is a graduate of the
Cranbrook School. He received his
bachelor of science degree in molecular
biology from Yale University in 1985
and his doctor of medicine degree with
honors from Harvard Medical School in
1990. He is an assistant professor of
neurosurgery at Wayne State University
and section leader of neurooncology at
the Karmanos Cancer Institute in
Detroit.
A June wedding is planned.
