Avie LaMed Linden will become a
bat mitzvah at Temple Israel on
Friday, Dec. 17.
She is the daughter
of Fran and David
Linden and sister
of Molly and Joe.
Excited grandpar-
ents are Jeanette
Auslander, Barbara
and Barney Rosen
and Joan Linden;
proud great-grand-
mother is Ada Linden. Grandparents
of blessed memory are the late
Meyer Gross and the late Victor
Linden.
Avie's most memorable mitzvah
project was one she conceived of
and accomplished on her own: she
collected and donated books to
Orchards Children's Services and
HAVEN after preparing and distrib-
uting flyers publicizing the effort. A
student at Birmingham Covington
School, where she works on the
newspaper and enjoys forensics, Avie
is interested in baseball, traveling
and music

David Scott Cohn was called to the
Torah as a bar mitzvah on Nov. 6 at
Temple Beth Torah
in Tamarac, Fla. He
is the son of Gayle
and Elliott Cohn
and brother of
Zachary of Coral
Springs, Fla. Very
proud grandparents
are Sara and Louis
Bakst of Oak Park
and Phyllis and
Joseph Cohn of Coral Springs.
David is a seventh-grade honor
student at Sawgrass Springs Middle
School in Coral Springs. He enjoys
singing, acting, playing the piano
and visiting AOL. He is also an
active participant in. Kadima. His
mitzvah projects included preparing
sandwiches for the homeless and
collecting gifts for children ir. dis-
tress.
David was excited to have family
and friends from Michigan, Illinois,
Arizona, California, Indiana,
Connecticut and England celebrate
with him.
