Bar/Bat Mitzvah

Samantha Jane Gordon Dresser became
a bat mitzvah on Saturday, Dec. 4, at
Temple Israel, Bay City. She is the
daughter of Marilyn (Gordon) and
Richard Dresser and sister of Jacob.
Proud grandmoth-
ers are Esther Dresser
of Southfield and
Belle Gordon of Bay
City. She is also the
granddaughter of the
late Joseph B. Dresser
and Sanford N.
Gordon.
Samantha is an all-
A, eighth-grade student at the Saginaw
Arts and Sciences Academy in Bay City
with a concentration in dance. She plays
French horn and teaches beginning
Hebrew classes at her temple.
Samantha previously won grand prize
in the Jewish News Chanuka art contest.
For her mitzvah project, she is creating
original stuffed bears for an orphanage
in Birobidjian, Russia.
