rom the music of a leg-
end to the creation of a
1,000-pound ice
menora, the metro
Jewish community celebrated
Chanuka 5760 with parties, con-
certs and family fun. Gathering
around the menora, we observed
the Festival of Lights, in song,
with dreidels, Chanuka gelt and
traditional latke meals.
Commemorating the rededica-
tion of the Holy Temple, we
remembered the miracle of the oil
that shone brightly for eight days,
and listened to stories celebrating a
victory over religious persecution. 7
