Tamakwa's climbing wall is a big
attraction.

Laurence Cohn. "In all of our activities,
from scuba diving to golf, we are teach-
ing life skills, while encouraging the
most important entity -- the spirit of
play"
Maplehurst sas extended its water-
front "because we found many kids
hanging out and socialising near the
water," says Cohn. The camp has seven
lakes visible from its main lodge includ-
ing Lake Maplehurst and Torch Lake.
The camp has added Escape sailboats
for beginners, a 19-foot Flying Scot for
advanced sailors, a Malibu 2000 ski
boat, and instruction on mono skiing
and trick, barefoot slalom skiing and
knee boarding.
Maplehurst maintains pontoon boats
for scuba and snorkeling, and has pur-
chased a water trampoline for the 2000
season. It is adding a game room to the
arts and crafts building.
Camp Sea-Gull, an all-girls camp
near Charlevoix, is adding a week to its
sailing program, extending it beyond the
regular camp session."
Bill Schulman, co-camp director, says
Canadian Sail Week 2000, from Aug. 5-
11, will feature a trip along Lake
Huron's North Channel. Sea-Gull will
charter large sail yachts equipped with
galley, showers and bunks.
To enhance group interactive skills,
girls will sail, cook, navigate, clean and
work together for seven days. I
