amarack, a place of lakes
and pines. . ." How many
of us remember those
lyrics and those of so
many camp songs we learned as
children summering in
Ortonville and Brighton?
At least three or four genera-
tions of Detroiters can hum the
melodies and bring back so
many warm memories of those
wonderful days of skinny dips
and "bug juice."
Now, 95 years since its "Fresh
Air Camp" beginnings,
Tamarack Camps has compiled a
comprehensive catalog of camp pro-
grams at their Web site, wwvv.tama-
rackcamps.com .
If you're currently of camping
age, you can enter the Tamarack
chat room from the homepage to
find out which session your friends
are going to attend this summer. Or,
you might

Also, it would be so nice if there
was more offered for children or
teens. They spend more time on the
computer than their parents anyway.
Who knows? A more interactive,
child-oriented site might make the
kids start "noodging" their moms
and dads to sign them up!
Yet, all said, a quick surf to tama-
rackcamps.com will get you singing,
"Where hearts and hands unite from
far and near, to make a summer full
of fun and cheer." ❑
