Nov. 18
Andy Mudryk and Don Hughes wel-
come with much love the birth of
their son, Samuel Avram (Shmuel
Avram). Sharing in their joy are
ecstatic first-time grandparents
Sheila and Chuck Mudryk of
Southfield and Marilyn and Donald
Hughes of Cadillac. Samuel Avram
is named in loving memory of his
great-grandfather Abraham Mudryk.

Oct. 22
Chris and Vicki (Nussbaum) Goerke of
Ann Arbor welcome with much love the
birth of their son, Nicholas James
(Menachem Schmuel). Sharing in their
happiness are sisters Anja and Hilary.
He is the grandson of John and Sylvia
Nussbaum of Southfield and Jackie
Goerke of Ann Arbor. He is named in
loving memory of his maternal great-
grandfather Emil Nussbaum and great-
great-uncle Sammy Cogan and paternal
great-grandfather James Perkins.

Bar/Bat Mitzvah

Dayna Michelle Gold will be called to
the Torah as a bat mitzvah on Saturday,
Dec. 4, at Temple
Israel. She is the
daughter of Esther
and Ken Gold, sister
of Allison and grand-
child of Fryda and
Avrum Fleish and
Jean and Jack Gold.
A student at
Abbott Middle
School in West Bloomfield, Dayna is
interested in basketball, writing, draw-
ing, acting and dancing. Her most sig-
nificant mitzvah project was making
dolls at Hadassah House for hospitalized
children.

Oct. 1
Robyn (Lederman) and Shlomi
Hamer of Moshav Haniel ecstatically
announce the birth of their daugh-
ter, Noa Pearl. Greeting her at home
are big brothers Dean Gabriel, 3,
and Eli Gideon, 14 months. Thrilled
grandparents are Dr. Robert and
Rochelle Lederman of Farmington
Hills. She is also the granddaughter
of the late Zalmon and Chaia
Hamer. Great-grandparents are
Barney and Marion Lederman of
West Hartford, Conn. Noa Pearl is
lovingly named after her great-
grandmother Pearl Werner.

Joshua Ryan Kay will celebrate his bar
mitzvah at Temple Israel on Saturday,
Dec. 4. He is the son
of Drs. Deborah and
Randy Kay and
brother of Rachel.
Proud grandparents
are Loretta and
Raymond Owczarzak,
Beverly and Gil
Rubin and Judy Kay.
Excited great-grand-
parents are Bessie and Harry Kay and
Stella Blyzwick. He is also the grandson
of the late Dr. Bernard Kay.
Josh attends Walnut Creek Middle
School in West Bloomfield, where he is a
4.0 student and has achieved honors in
math and language arts. He plays travel
basketball and tournament baseball and
enjoys tennis, collecting sports cards and
memorabilia and attending sporting
events. Josh found it especially worth-
while to volunteer at an orphanage.

July 20
Audrey (Lawson) and Scott
Kaufman of Larchmont, N.Y., lov-
ingly announce the arrival of their
daughter, Dalia Sarah. Welcoming
her home is her proud big brother
Aaron and her doting big sister
Courtney. Sharing in their joy are
grandparents Judith and Noel
Lawson of Bloomfield Hills and
Sharon and Michael Kaufman of
East Hills, N.Y. Thrilled with his
special birthday present is great-
grandfather Victor Lawson of West
Bloomfield. Excited great-grand-
mothers are Ida Shanies and
Rosalyne Perry, both of Queens,
N.Y., and Delray Beach, Fla. Dalia is
named in loving memory of her
maternal great-grandmother Sarah
Dzodin.

Aaron Levine will be called to the Torah
as a bar mitzvah on Saturday, Dec. 4, at
Congregation Beth Abraham Hillel
Moses. He is the son
of Francine and
Robert Levine, broth-
er of Avi and grand-
son of Rose and Louis
Adler, Dr. and Mrs.
Jack Litwin and the
late Harold Levine.
Aaron is a seventh-
grade student at
Orchard Lake Middle School in West
Bloomfield, where he plays trombone in
the symphony band. Aaron is on the
executive board of his USY-Kadima
chapter at BAHM. He is senior patrol
leader of Boy Scout Troop 1579, which
is chartered to BAHM. Aaron is inter-
ested in and active in all team sports.
