JTS Recruits
Local Students

Area high school seniors and juniors as
well as parents are invited to attend an
information meeting for the Albert A.
List College of Jewish Studies, the
undergraduate program offered by the
Jewish Theological Seminary. The
meeting will be held 6:30 p.m.
Tuesday, Dec. 14, at the home of
Sharon and Marty Gene in West
Bloomfield.
The program is a joint venture with
Barnard College and Columbia
University leading to two bachelor of
arts degrees. Students may major in any
Columbia or Barnard program while
concurrently enrolled at JTS leading to a
second bachelor of arts degree in subject
areas from Jewish history to Talmud.
List College is a fully accredited
undergraduate program of 300 students
within Columbia's New York campus.
Seven Detroit students are enrolled in
this joint program with majors ranging
from pre-med to psychology. They are
Daniel Barak, Shoshana Cohen,
Jennifer Cohn, Faya Gene, Judith
Horowitz, Elana Roth and Paula Ann
Newman. In addition, Detroit commu-
nity leaders Alan J. Kaufman and Dr.
Alden Leib serve on the List College
Board of Overseers.
A deli dinner will be offered. Rena
Gold, director of List College admis-
sions, will answer questions. For infor-
