Rabbi Tamara Kolton, associate
rabbi and educator at the
Birmingham Temple, will be the
guest speaker the Mifgash-
Hebrew Speakers Program at
the Agency for Jewish
Education, 12:30 p.m. Sunday,
Dec. 5, at AJE, 21550 West 12
Mile, Southfield.
Rabbi Kolton's doctoral dis-
sertation was written on the
experience of women rabbis.
The topic of her presentation is
"Women Rabbis — A General
Perspective and a Personal
Account."

Art Exhibit
At The JCC

An exhibit of the works of Russian
artist Alexander Kanchik will be on
display Sunday, Dec. 5-Sunday, Dec.
19, in the lobby of the Jewish
Community Center's Building in
West Bloomfield.
Kanchik's works include original oils
and fantasy surrealism. He studied art,
theater and cinema in the former Soviet
Union and has exhibited throughout
that area and at the Danielle Peleg
Gallery in West Bloomfield. His works
are in private collections in Europe and
throughout the United States.
A portion of the proceeds from the
sale of Kanchik's works will benefit the
JCC. A percentage of the purchase price
is tax deductible.
The exhibit and sale are co-spon-
sored by the Danielle Peleg Gallery.
Admission is free and the public is

Helen and Tarik Daoud and Sydell and Douglas Schubot, $1,705,000 was
realized in State of Israel Bonds. The honorees were presented with the State of
Israel Declaration of Independence Award. Shown seated are Tarik and Helen
