He is survived by his daughter,
Toby Kiritsis of Livonia; son and
daughter-in-law Philip and Suzanne
Schwartz of Oak Park; sister Ruth
Kuff of Baltimore; granddaughter
Amy (Richard) Zielinski; great-grand-
daughters Melissa and Lauren
Zielinski.
He was the beloved husband of the
late Victoria Schwartz and father-in-
law of the late John Kiritsis.
Graveside services were at B'nai
David Cemetery. Contributions may
be made to a charity of one's choice.

Bloomfield, died Nov. 16.
Mrs. Shiener came to Detroit as a
young child from Russia. She worked
in her family's market where cus-
tomers appreciated her kind, warm
manner, said her grandson, Dr.
Theodore Ruza. She and her husband
of nearly 60 years, Phillip, ran two
drug stores and other businesses.
Mrs. Shiener was active in
Congregation Shaarey Zedek
Sisterhood. She volunteered as an,
interpreter for Russian immigrants at
the Sinai eye clinic. She was an avid
traveler and a patron of the arts.
"She was an all-around balebusta,
beautiful inside and out," said her
granddaughter, Sherri Ruza.
Mrs. Shiener is survived by her
daughter, Harriet Ruza; son and
daughter-in-law Dr. Gerald and
Karen Shiener of West Bloomfield;
grandchildren Dr. Theodore and
Sandra Ruza, Sherri Ruza, Steven
Ruza, Loren Shiener, David Shiener;
great-grandchildren Matthew and
Laurel Ruza.
Mrs. Shiener was the beloved wife
of the late Phillip Shiener.
Interment was at Clover Hill Park
Cemetery. Contributions may be
made to Congregation Shaarey Zedek
and the Kal Sweet Memorial Fund,
c/o the Jewish Community Center in
West Bloomfield. Arrangements: by
Ira Kaufman Chapel.

BERNICE SINGER, 88, of West

Bloomfield, died Nov. 13.
A graduate of Wayne University,
Mrs. Singer was a substitute teacher
in the Detroit Public Schools for over
30 years.
Mrs. Singer was a member of Adat
Shalom Synagogue and Hadassah.
She was treasurer of the Aesculapian
Pharmaceutical Association Women's

Auxiliary and its representative to the
Cooperative Council for many years.
She is survived by her husband of
62 years, Milton Singer; daughter
Carol Singer of Southfield; son and
daughter-in-law Dr. Robert E. and
Ruthellen Singer of Farmington
Hills; sisters and brother-in-law
Marion and Harry Mendelsohn of
Oakland, Calif., Tillie Kaufman of
Southfield; grandchildren Benjamin,
Jonathan; sisters-in-law Alicia
Sibrack, Rhea Albert, Gloria Singer.
Mrs. Singer was the loving sister of ,/
the late Dr. Louis Leipsitz, the late
Joseph Linder, the late Benjamin
Linder and the late Harry Leipsitz.
Contributions may be made to a
charity of one's choice. Interment was
at Machpelah Cemetery. Services and
arrangements by Hebrew Memorial
Chapel.

BELLE SLUTSKY, 90, of Southfield,
died Nov. 16.
She is survived by her son and
daughter-in-law, Robert J. and Nira
Slutsky of West Bloomfield; daughter
and son-in-law Marilyn and Paul
Scensny of Brentwood, Tenn.; grand-
children Lisa Slutsky, Lauren and
Jeremy Belchinsky, Carrie Scensny,
Erin Scensny.
Mrs. Slutsky was the beloved wife
of the late Jack M. Slutsky.

RICHARD E. SMITT, 72, of West

Bloomfield, died Nov. 19.
Mr. Smitt was the founder and
president of Petro Products, Inc.,
founded in 1964, and Propane
Services, founded in 1967. He was a
World War II Navy veteran and a
graduate of the University of
Michigan.
He was a past board member of
Temple Beth El and JARC, a member
of the Franklin Hills Country Club,
life member Asher Lodge #91 F &
AM and member of Detroit Oil
Man's Club and McCauly Club of St.
Joseph Hospital.
Mr. Smitt is survived by his wife,
Ann Smitt; daughters and sons-in-law
Peggy and Martin Clancy of
Deerfield, Ill., Jane and Harvey
Hollander of Birmingham; stepchil-
dren Robert Clamage and James and
Missy Clamage; grandchildren
Matthew, David and Julia Hollander,
