Holiday Help

Each year, hundreds of volunteers from
the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan
Detroit have spread through the tri-
county area on Christmas Day, provid-
ing relief and service to many individu-
als. This year, since Dec. 25 falls on
Shabbat, when work is prohibited, a
new twist will be given to Federation's
Volunteer Extravaganza.
A collection of non-perishable food
and new toys will be conducted in the

Jewish community beginning on
Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 25, through
Dec. 21. Federation will distribute these
items to food banks and family agencies
in the metro area on Christmas Day.
Among the agencies and organiza-
tions that will be assisted through the
Volunteer Extravaganza are Boys and
Girls Republic, Yad Ezra, Women's
Justice Center, Orchards Children's
Services, the Jewish Community Center
of Metropolitan Detroit's Jimmy Prentis
Morris Building and Children's Hospital
of Michigan. The drop-off sites for toys
and food are:
• Max M. Fisher Federation Building,
6735 Telegraph, Bloomfield Township
• Jewish Community Center — D.
Dan & Betty Kahn Building, 6600 W.
Maple Road, West Bloomfield, and
JPM Building, 15110 W. 10 Mile Road,
Oak Park

Federation's Community Outreach and
Education Department, Young Adult
Division, Women's Campaign and
Education Department, Business and
Professional Women and Michigan/Israel
