`The Red Tent' Author To Speak Anita Diamant will discuss her novel The Red Tent 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, at Temple Israel, co-spon- sored by the tern- ple and the Jewish Community Center of Metropolitan Detroit. A book signing will follow. A columnist for the Boston Globe Anita Diamant Magazine for seven years, Diamant is the author of five handbooks on con- temporary Jewish life. The Red Tent, her first work of fiction, is based on the biblical story of Dinah. Her work has appeared in Parenting Magazine, Parents, Hadassah, Reform Judaism and Yankee. Trauma Specialist Gives Talk Dr. Yoel Donchin, clinical professor of anesthesiology and intensive care at Hadassah Medical Center in Israel, will address Hadassah mem- bers and the community 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, at Temple Shir Shalom. Dr. Donchin, a Tel Aviv native and the veteran of rescue mis- sions around the world, will give an account of his _experiences with a trauma team assigned to aid refugees' during the recent conflict in Kosovo. Dr. Donchin and two colleagues from Hadassah Medical Organization (HMO) flew into Skopje, Macedonia, on 24 hours' notice on an Israel Defense Forces mission. They staffed a field hospital to care for ethnic Albanian refugees streaming out of Kosovo. Dr. Donchin and the other doctors in the field used medical equipment and technology contributed by the Hadassah Medical Organization, part of an eight-ton airlift by the Jerusalem municipality.
