Town Hall Forum
Slated For Downriver

Trenton will be the setting for the
Jewish Community Council of
Metropolitan Detroit's Town Hall
meeting 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16,
at Beth Isaac Synagogue.
Developed in consultation with
organizational partners and downriv-
er area residents, the Town Hall will
offer participants the opportunity to
learn about the various services pro-
vided by local Jewish groups, discuss
their needs and explore the issues
facing them as Jewish members of
the downriver community. Leaders
from area agencies will be on hand
to take part in the meetings and
respond to questions.
The meeting in Trenton is part of
the First concerted effort by the
Jewish Community Council, repre-
senting the organized Jewish com-
munity, to reach out to Jews living
in communities outside the several
Oakland County suburbs. The first
four Town Hall meetings were held
for Jewish residents in 1998 and '99
in the Walled Lake/Waterford, Royal
Oak/Ferndale, Grosse Pointe and
Troy/Rochester Hills area communi-
ties.
The Jewish News co-sponsors the
Town Hall meetings.
