As an optician in Detroit, he was the creator between 1940-1945 of the first invisible-line bi-focal lens. He was also an entrepre- neur in furs, shoes and weight-reduc- tion salons. He served as an advisor to the Army for 10 years in the field of pre- cision optics, specifically prism design for bomb-sights and navigation. He performed in vaudeville as a violinist and had his own orchestra in the Detroit area in the 1930s. Mr. Foreman was a member of the Kiwanis and Rotary clubs, Habitat for Humanity and the Detroit Masonic Lodge. He was an active contributor to Israel Bonds and a strong supporter of Israel. He is survived by his wife, Catherine Foreman; son and daugh- ter-in-law, Dennis and Sondra Foreman of New York; daughter and son-in-law, Arlene Foreman and George Black of Florida; grandson, Brett Foreman; brother and sister-in- law, Leonard and Mimi Foreman of California.
