Music Is My Friend: Sing
Along With Miss Rollin And Her
Songs (Wendy Rollin, $16)

If your young children like hear-
ing happy, easy-to-learn songs
with a positive message,
this is the CD for you.
Written and performed by
local singer and music teacher
Wendy Rollin, Music Is My
Friend contains 18 songs about
everything from taking a bath to
what it feels like to be a seal.
Along the way, Rollin talks to
children and invites them to par-
ticipate in the music. For exam-
ple, in the song "I Have a
Name," she encourages chil-
dren to call out their own
names. It's just the sort of thing
a 4-year-old will love.
Rollin, music director of the
Echo Park School in Bloomfield
Hills, is an enthusiastic singer
and her songs have great

topics of discussion to accompa-
ny each song.
There are a few holiday tunes
here, including a nice number
about lights on Christmas and
Chanuka. Observant Jewish fam-
ilies should be aware that
the CD has songs about
Halloween and Valen-
tine's Day.
Music is My Friend is
