9:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, offered
through the Jewish Life and

Prentis Morris Jewish Community
Center Building in Oak Park.
Rube is a geriatric social worker at
Teitel Apartments and Services. She is
on the Hebrew high school faculty of
Congregation Shaarey Zedek.
This eight-week course will exam-
ine the development of the American
Jewish community through popular
films. There will be some background
reading material provided. The charge
for the class is $50 for JCC members;

Bible Study
Program Set
The Ecumenical Institute for Jewish-
Christian Studies and Prince of Peace
Catholic Church are offering a Bible
study program tided "Jews and
Christians Study Scripture." Ecumenical
Director David Blewett and Dr. Seth
Korelitz will lead a dialogue program
examining texts from both Jewish and
Christian scriptures.
The free classes will be held 7:30-
8:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Nov. 2, 9, 16 and
23 at Prince of Peace, 4300 Walnut
Lake Road, West Bloomfield.

Jazz Classes
For Children
Lianne Paskel will teach two eight-week
j277. classes for girls in grades 1-3 starting
Monday, Nov. 15, offered through the
Jewish Life and Learning Department at
the Jimmy Prentis Morris Building of the
Jewish Community Center in Oak Park.
Paskel has taught creative move-
ment, modern dance and jazz.
Both jazz series are age-related dance
classes; basic jazz techniques along with
Hip-Hop will be taught. Both begin
Monday, Nov. 15, from 4:30-5:30 p.m.
and from 6-7 p.m. Classes cost $73 for
members and $89 for non-members.
