Mazel Toy! Bar/Bat Mitzvah Evan Jay Adler was called to the Torah as a bar mitzvah on Saturday, Oct. 23, at Beth Israel Congregation in Ann Arbor. Rabbi Robert Dobrusin officiated. Along with his hafro rah and Torah readings, Evan led the Torah and lvlusaf ser- vices. Evan is the son of Sue and Larry Adler and the brother of Stephanie. His proud grandparents are Maxine and Leon Feig, Elana and Sandor Adler. He was fortunate to have his great-grandparents Sylvia and Israel Abramo-vitz celebrate with him. She is the daughter of Deborah and Peter Aronson. Proud grandparents are Jeanne and Harold Aronson. She is also the granddaughter of the late Joe and Tillie Abrams. Justine is in the eighth grade at Bloomfield Hills Middle School, where she is an honor student. Some of her interests are singing, piano and ice skat- • ing. Her mitzvah projects included helping at the Gleaners Food Bank and caring for preschoolers at Campette Day Camp. Adam Colton celebrated his bar mitzvah on Saturday, Sept. 4, at Temple Shir Shalom. Adam is the son of Michele and Michael Colton and the brother of Eric and Kyle Colton. Proud great-grandma Sylvia Cohen and delighted grand- parents Cal and Cindy Moss attended the cel- ebration. Adam is also the grandson of the late Elaine Moss and the late June and Irving Colton. Adam is an honor student at Berkshire Middle School in Birmingham and enjoys baseball, basketball, soccer, snowboarding and drama. For his mitzvah projects, Adam packaged food for Gleaners Food Bank, cleaned rooms and prepared meals for the Detroit Rescue Mission. Jessica Eve Dominic will celebrate her bat mitzvah on Saturday, Oct. 30, at Temple Israel. She is the daughter of Toby and John Dominic and sister of Erica. Proud grandparents are Elizabeth and Albert DiDominicis and Rachela and Henry Yager. Excited great-grandmother is Bella Kolender. Among her mitzvah projects, Jessica assisted in the Temple Israel office and volunteered at the Labor Day picnic, as well as contributing to CHAIM (Children of Holocaust- survivors Association In Michigan). An honor student at Warner Middle School in Farmington Hills, Jessica enjoys art, writing, music, swim- ming and computers. Lauren Nicole Elkus (Esther Chava) will become a bat mitzvah on Saturday, Oct. 30, at Congregation Shaarey Zedek in Southfield. She is the daughter of Jacqueline and Lawrence Elkus and sister to Bryan. Lauren is the grand- daughter of Estelle and Philip Elkus of Bloomfield Hills and Liddy Weinberg and the late Jerome Weinberg of West Branch. Lauren attends West Hills Middle School in Bloomfield Hills, where she plays French horn, participates annu- ally in forensic competitions and loves to play competitive volleyball. Lauren participates in numerous volunteer activities at her synagogue and in her community. Elektra Morgana Petrucci celebrated her bat mitzvah on Saturday, Oct. 23, with Workmen's Circle/Arbeter Ring at the Royal Oak Woman's Club. Friends and family joined Elektra and her mother, Maureen Davidson Petrucci, at the simcha. Elektra is the granddaughter of Bertha Davidson.
