CITY COUNCIL
Toby Renae Brown, 35, is a five-year
resident of Birmingham. At Wayne State
University, she is pursuing a master's
degree in public administration with a
concentration in economic develop-
ment. She is the president of both the
Howarth/St. James Homeowners
Association and the Birmingham
Neighborhood Association. She is mar-
ried and has two children.

Archie Damman III, 47, the president
of Adco Circuits Inc., has been a resi-
dent of Birmingham for 11 years.
Twice elected to the city commission,
he also has served the city as a ticket
co-chair for the Birmingham Fall
Spectacular and the Revving on the
Rooftops charities. His home was fea-
tured in this year's Birmingham House
Tour. He has been married for 23
years and has two daughters.

Seth Chafetz, 39, is a resident profession-
al at the Detroit Skating Club and has
taught figure skating at the Birmingham
Ice Arena for six years. A 12-year resident
of the city, he is a member of the board
of the Torry Community Association, a
permanent delegate to the Birmingham
Presidents Council and a member of the

Russell Dixon, 48, is a self-employed
architect and a 35-year resident of
Birmingham. Originally elected to the
city commission in 1995, he also has
served on the board of directors for
BASCC, the board of zoning appeals
and the historic district commission.

Jonathan D. Brateman, 42, is a
commercial real estate broker and
president of Jonathan Brateman
Properties Inc. He has been a
Southfield resident for 15 years. He
is single. Brateman serves on the
Southfield Zoning Board. He is on
the State of Israel Bonds executive

Sylvia Jordan, 43, is director of opera-
tions for Family Victory Fellowship &
Victory Learning Center. She has been
a Southfield resident for 13 years.
Jordan is married and has two children.

Ron Gillham, 64, a 40-year resident
of Huntington Woods, retired from
General Motors after 37 years of
service. Aside from being mayor, he
has served the community as a vol-
unteer on the zoning board of
appeals, as a longtime member of
the Optimists Club and as a board
member of the local YMCA.
