Rabbi Benjamin Segal, president of the
Schechter Institute of Jewish Studies in
Jerusalem, will be guest speaker at
Congregation Beth Shalom on Saturday
and Sunday, Nov. 13 and 14. Rabbi
Segal is the Detthit Conservative move-
ment's scholar in residence this fall.
At Shabbat morning services, Rabbi
Segal will speak on "Who is a Jew: Who
Can Be and Who Cannot." His Shabbat
lunch-and-learn topic is "The Jewish Sex
Ethic and the Song of Songs." On
Sunday, he will speak on "The Joys and
Ironies of Aliya" at a brunch sponsored
by the synagogue men's club.
Rabbi Segal was director of Ramah
programs in Israel and past chairman
of the Masorti (Conservative) move-
ment in Israel. For many years he
served on the expanded executive com-
mittee of the World Zionist
Organization.
Reservations are required by
Friday, Nov. 5, for the lunch-and-
learn session. There is a charge,
payable prior to Shabbat. A dairy
luncheon will be served.

"Night of Comedy" 6:45 p.m.
Wednesday, Nov. 3, at Knollwood
