Na'amat Plans
Donor Luncheon

Na'amat USA, Greater Detroit
Council, will hold its annual donor
luncheon at noon Thursday, Oct.
28, at Adat Shalom Synagogue. The
speaker will be Mark Myers,. com-
munity shaliach (Israeli emissary),
whose topic will be "Israel: 2000
and Beyond."
Myers worked first in Vienna and
then in Rome during the peak peri-
od of Russian Jewish immigration to
the United States. Moving to Israel
in 1980, he has lived on Kibbutz
Ma'agan Michael for 19 years. He is
a teacher of Jewish and general his-
tory in the kibbutz high school and
has worked on curriculum develop-
ment in the Ghetto Fighters House
Museum of the Holocaust. Myers is
the director of the Michigan/Israel
Connection of the Jewish
Federation of Metropolitan Detroit.
Also featured on the program will
be Cantor Ralph Goren of
Congregation Shaarey Zedek. He
will present a variety of musical
selections.
Based in Israel, Na'amat fights for
the rights of women, children and
families in 17 countries throughout
the world.
Evelyn Noveck is council presi-
dent and Betty Rath is chairwoman
of the day. Pauline Robb will lead
anthems, accompanied by Florence
Citarel, who will also deliver the
invocation.
There is a charge for the lun-
cheon in addition to a minimum
contribution. For reservations, by
Sunday, Oct. 24, call the council
