Humanitarian
Award from

Murdered
Children
Inc./Metro
Detroit Chapter
during the ninth
annual Love for
Life benefit. Kaplan prosecuted 27
murder cases as assistant prosecuting

attorney for Macomb County, gain-
ing conviction in 26 of those trials.
In 1998, Mothers Against Drunk
Driving named him their Citizen of
the Year for his effective prosecution
of drunk drivers.

Matthew Kohlenberg of Bloomfield
Hills, a junior at the Roeper School
in Birmingham, has been selected to
attend the national Young Leaders
Conference in Washington, D.C.,
from Nov. 16-21.
