As a volunteer in retirement, he served the Turner Geriatric Clinic. At age 23 he was president of Temple Beth Israel of Maywood, N.J. He became president of the National Association of Synagogue Administrators after serving 20 years as executive director of Har Zion Temple in Philadelphia and Beth Hamidrosh Hagodol in Denver. For many years he led fund-raising trips to Israel with corporate leaders from around the country on behalf of Israel Bonds. He also served as vice pres- ident of Hahneman Hospital in Philadelphia. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sara Schoem; sons and daughters-in-law Mark and Esther Schoem of California, David and Karyn Schoem of Ann Arbor; grandchildren Davida, Jesse, Adina and Shana; brother and sister-in- law Robert and Georgiana Schoem of New Jersey. Mr. Sniderman was a CPA and founder of Sniderman and Sweitzer in Southfield. He was active with the Detroit Folk Dance Group as well as the Institute for Retired Professionals. He was a member of the Zionist Organization of America and a past president of the Accountants Guild.
