The Retirement Community That Has It Aff —

Brad enjoys all sports, especially ice
hockey; he is involved with the
Farmington Hockey Association. His
other interests are the computer and
attending Camp Tamarack. Brad's
mitzvah projects included volunteer-
ing at Yad Ezra, assisting in Temple
Israel's media center and contribut-
ing to the American Cancer Society.

Dayna Brooke Menken will cele-
brate her bat mitzvah at Temple
Beth El on
Friday, Oct. 1.
She is the
daughter of
Francine and
Steven Menken
and sister of
Zachary. Excited
are grandparents
Sara and Sid
Kay, Dorsey
Menken and
great-grandfather Louis Berenstein.
Dayna is also the grandchild of the
late Daniel Menken and the great-
granddaughter of the late Belle
Berenstein.
Dayna received a highest honor
student award at Walled Lake
Middle School and she enjoys swim-
ming and in-line skating. She plays
flute in the school band, sings and is
an accomplished artist and potter.
Her mitzvah projects included the
Temple Beth El coat drive and reor-
ganizing the resource center at the
Agency for Jewish Education. She
also obtained her certificate of corn-
pletion for the Reach for Hope pro-
aram.

Scott Marx will become a bar mitz-
vah on Saturday,
Oct. 2, at
'R TEMPAPY4 M
Temple Beth El.
Scott is a sev-
enth-grader at
Bloomfield Hills
Middle School,
where he loves
math. He enjoys
all sports, par-
ticularly soccer
and skiing.
Scott is the son of Sally and
Frederick Marx of Bloomfield Hills.
His siblings are Julie, Andrew and
Carolyn Marx. Grandparents are
Eleanor Sloman of Southfield and
the late Robert Sloman, and
Florence and Maurice Zox of
Columbus, Ohio, and Sarasota, Fla.
Scott is a sixth-generation mem-
ber of Beth El, descended from
Mark Sloman, who was a founder.
