A Tribute
To 'Angel Of Love'

The Israel Cancer Association of
Michigan will pay tribute to Alexandra
(Alex) Graham, a
West Bloomfield High
School student who
died of cancer in
January at age 17.
The ICAM annu-
al dinner will honor
the memory of Alex,
the daughter of Bill
Alex Graham
and Susie Graham,
celebrating her life and accomplish-
ments 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 18,
at Adat Shalom Synagogue.
• 'Alex was a wonderful person," said
Hannan Lis, ICA chapter president.
"She had a zest for life. Her optimism
was boundless and we feel privileged to
pay tribute to her. When one of her
friends described her as an Angel of
Love in a poem, he certainly was right. -
Dinner committee members are Dr.
Gary Edelson, chairman; Ernie Curtis,
Ann Eisenberg, Dr., Kimberly Hart,
Hannan and Lisa Lis, Zoltan and Agi
Rubin and Uri Segal.
Tickets for the dinner are $125 per
person. The deadline for reservations
is NOV. 12.

GA Meets In Atlanta

This year's United Jewish Coriimunities
General Assembly will meet Nov. 17-20
in Atlanta.
The GA is the "coming out party" for
the new national organization, formed
from the merger of United Jewish
Appeal, Council of Jewish Federations
and United Israel Appeal.
President Bill Clinton is expected to
address the gathering. Other world lead-
ers speaking at the GA will include
Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak and
George Shultz, who was U.S. Secretary
of State for President Ronald Reagan.
Among the other participants will be
New York Times columnist and author
Thomas Friedman and Dr. Alice Shavli,
former professor at Hebrew University
of Jerusalem and head of the Scheckner
Institute of Jewish Studies.
