and Dell Warner. She is also the
grandchild of the late Joan Goldrath
and the late Lester Small.
Her most meaningful mitzvah pro-
ject was assisting at a nursing home.
A student at Derby Middle School in
Birmingham, Emily enjoys playing
softball, skiing and snowboarding,
animals and playing the piano. She
loves to travel, having visited China
this year as an outgrowth of studying
Chinese at school; this summer, she
was in Europe as part of the People to
People Student Ambassador program.

Bar/Bat Mitzvah

Keyanna Silverman, was called to
the Torah as a bat mitzvah on
Saturday, June 5, in Jerusalem while
on Project Discovery. She is the
daughter of Gerry Maddox and
Shelly Silverman of Southfield and
sister of Carinne. Proud grandmoth-
er is Irene
Silverman. She is
also the grand-
daughter of the late
Morley Silverman.
Keyanna com-
pleted the 10th
grade at Ramah
Jerusalem High
School, where she
enjoyed many tiyuls
throughout Israel. While there, she
celebrated Purim, Pesach, Yom
HaShoah, Lag b'Omer and Shavuot.
She served the community by clear-
ing land with the JNF and she looks
forward to joining the Israeli
Defense Forces and attending the
University of Central Florida.
