BBYO Will Cite
Weiner's 30 Years

For 30 years, Arnie Weiner has made
B'nai B'rith Youth Organization a cen-
tral part of his
life. The senior
executive regional
director for
Michigan BBYO
will be honored
by his organiza-
tion on Oct. 16
at the Gem
Theatre in
Detroit during
AZA's 75th
anniversary cele-
Arnie Weiner
bration.
"I love working
with the kids. I can see the results every
day. Without the kids, I'd be out of bal-
ance," says Weiner.

Show to mark
AZA's 75th
anniversary.

Under Weiner's leadership, Michigan
has been one of the most successful
BBYO regions. It has strong program-
ming, well-trained staff, an active adult
board and community support. Each
year, Michigan Region attracts more
than 1,000 members from the Detroit,
Windsor and Ann Arbor areas and
involves them in programs directed
toward Jewish identity, leadership train-
ing and community service.
Weiner joined the BBYO staff as
an assistant director in 1969. Three
years later, he was promoted to
regional director.
Based on his experience and success,
Weiner was named to the BBYO
National Management Team by
International Director Sam Fisher and
now supervises the BBYO programs in
Chicago, Milwaukee and Toronto in
addition to his work in Michigan.
The BBYO gala at the Gem Theatre
will feature a performance of Escanaba
in da Moonlight, a comedy written by
actor Jeff Daniels.
For the event, a commemorative
booklet featuring updates on past
BBYOers will be published. Valet
parking is included in the cost of
tickets. For information, call BBYO.
