Jews for
Judaism don't
:14;01
take prisoners;
the anti-missionary anti-
cult organization doesn't
shrink from doing battle
even with Christian
friends of Israel who love
the Jewish people so much
they want to turn them all
into Christians.
And now Jews for
Judaism has an updated
Web site that's easy to use and filled
with information.
The best feature: loads of basic infor-
mation about the cults and the way they
operate.
A "resources" section answers fre-
quently asked questions (FAQs) about
the missionaries: "What characteristics
define a cult?" "Is 'Jews for Jesus' a
cult?" (Not really, they say).
Answers are short and direct — a lit-
tle oversimplified, but the purpose is to
give Jews weapons to fight the mission-
aries, not materials for scholarly debate.
The site's "Knowledge Base" offers
specific refutations of some of the argu-
ments used by missionaries who target
Jews. And there's a built-in search
engine providing links to Jews for
Judaism material.
The "Library" includes more detailed
essays on key topics. Does Isaiah 53
refer to the Christian messiah, as the
evangelists say? (No way, Jews for
Judaism tell us). There are also sections
on dealing with Mormons and Jehovah's
Witnesses when they come knocking on
your door.
The personal testimonies of Jews
who have left Christian cults are less
interesting. There's nothing wrong with
the stories, but they have the flavor of
too-often-told tales.
There are also sections featuring
descriptions of Jews for Judaism ser-
vices and bios of the group's
activists. In the works: a collection

of interactive discussion forums.
The site also advertises an Oct. 24
anti-missionary seminar in Baltimore.
The overhauled Jews for Judaism site
is attractive and well designed, thanks to
Webmaster Sue Zakar of Baltimore, and
it's not too cluttered with organizational
hype. More importantly, this is a useful
and accessible resource for families who
need information on the missionaries
and how to fight them.
