P CTuRe ThiS JARCarnival Fun! ARC, the Jewish Association for Residential Care, recently hosted its first carnival for children of all abilities. P ho tos by Bill Hails= T he JARCarnival was sponsored by the organization's Young Adult and Children and Family commit- tees and held at the Irving and Bever- ly Laker Education and Youth Complex in West Bloomfield. The day included games, entertain- ment and all kinds of fun activities. Chairing the free event were JARC board members Amy Berlin and Judith Shenkman. "We developed the carnival idea because many of the Young Adult vol- unteers are now parents themselves," Shenkman said. "What better way to build awareness than to have children of all abilities sharing a Sunday after- noon together." 17 Counter clockwise, from top left: Emily Einstandig, 3, of West Bloomfield, golfs with the help of mom Ilene. Erin Rhodes, 7, of Bloomfield Hills, gets a proper bounce from Scott Schneiderman of Walled Lake and Kevin Lepak of Commerce Township.
