Pet-A-Pet
Visitations

The Pet-A-Pet animal visitation program
unites volunteers and family pets with
nursing home residents, hospice
patients, physically and emotionally
challenged children and adults.
Volunteers with a healthy, friendly cat
or dog with current vaccination records
and who have a willingness to spare one
hour a month are asked to call Ruth
Curry, (313) 535-0410, for information.
Volunteers are especially needed at:
Danto Family Health Care at 10 a.m.
the first Wednesday of the month; call

Adult education courses for the fall/win-
ter season are being offered at Temple
Shir Shalom.
Kamikaze Hebrew will be offered
Saturday, Sept. 18, from 9 a.m.-3:30
p.m. The fee is $75. Brincr a bag lunch;
snack and beverage will be b provided.
This one-day seminar of intensive
Hebrew training is for those who cannot
read Hebrew or who need a lot of help.
Introduction to Judaism will be
Wednesdays beginning Sept. 22 through
Dec. 15 from 7-8 p.m. The fee is $100
per person; $150 per couple. The book
fee is $55. Class will be taught by
Rabbis Schwartz and Moskowitz.
Hands-on Judaism will be
Wednesdays beginning Sept. 22
through Dec. 15 from 8-9 p.m. The
fee is $45 per person; $75 per cou-
ple. The class will teach how to bring
traditions into the home and recipes
will be provided.
The development of Judaism from
the Destruction of the First Temple to
the Writing of the Talmud will be
offered Wednesdays beginning Sept. 29
through Oct. 20 from 8-9 p.m. The fee
is $45 per person. Class will be taught
by Rabbi Moskowitz.
Everyday Spirituality: There Are No
Coincidences will be offered
Wednesdays beginning Oct. 27 through
Nov. 17. From 8-9 p.m. The fee is $45
per person. Class will be taught by
Rabbi Schwartz. It will teach what the
mystics have to say about miracles that
happen every day.
