cellulose daily were able to reduce their laxative use by
over 70%. The brand name of this all NEW natural fiber
supplement is UniFiber. Current research shows that
high fiber intake helps maintain regularity in most
people and that fiber like UniFiber is essential for good
colon health.
The best part of this UniFiber discovery is that UniFiber
has 2 1/2 times more fiber per ounce than the leading
brands and can be mixed with any liquid without altering
the taste. Unlike the fiber in the leading brands,
UniFiber will not gel, taste gritty, cause bloating or
produce excess gas. You can even mix it with your
favorite soft foods, like applesauce, mashed potatoes, or
pudding, without altering their original taste or character.

wice-a-year Jews are in a
majority in Israel as they
are among their co-reli-
gionists in the United
States. Come the High Holidays, they
go to the synagogue, to pray or per-
haps just to identify with the commu-
nity.
The rest of the year most never set
foot inside a synagogue unless, per-
haps, their nephew is having his bar
mitzvah.
That much is almost identical
between Judaism in the United States
and Israel; the synagogues are not.
In the States, the places of worship
are most often affiliated with the
Reform or Conservative movements.
In Israel, the synagogues are over-
whelmingly Orthodox. Even most of
the Israelis who think nothing of tray-
elling on the Sabbath or eating a ham
sandwich are horrified at the thought
of entering a synagogue that has
mixed seating or a woman rabbi.
Therefore, Israel's Reform and
Conservative congregations — of
which there are perhaps 50 — cater
primarily to immigrants from
English-speaking countries. That is as
true on Rosh HaShana as it is the rest
of the year.
Non-observant Jews in the United
States can ignore the High Holidays if
they so desire. There is a great big
gentile world all around them, where
nobody cares whether they are pray-
ing or playing poker on Jewish holi-
days.
In Israel, the issue is more compli-
cated. The holidays engulf the coun-
try and create an atmosphere which
fervent secularists find stifling. This
prompts many of them to either run
off to Eilat — which remains stub-
bornly hedonist, even on Rosh
