Provides an event-clearing process for
local Jewish organizations to help avoid
scheduling conflicts for community
events. A record of confirmed and
tentative dates is kept at the Council
office.

FEDERATION

Based on the Jewish traditions of Tzedakah
(charity) and Tikun Olam (repairing the
world), Federation is the Jewish
community's umbrella organization
responsible for raising money to support
Jewish social services, culture and education
locally, in Israel and worldwide. Volunteer-
based and non-profit, Federation plays an
important role in community planning and
leadership development and annually
solicits funds to support its agencies and
programs. In addition, Federation
endowment funds help to ensure the
financial security of the Jewish community.

educational, cultural and social
programs, leadership development and
volunteer opportunities. Supports the
Allied Jewish Campaign through fund-
raising activities. "Bar Nights" usually
held monthly.

Women's Campaign and Education

Engages women in social, educational,
volunteer and fund-raising activities to
encourage involvement, strengthen
identity and promote values. Programs
include fundraising events, a non-
solicitation breakfast series, a Women's
Seder and Shalom Detroit.
