Andrew James Baum will be called
to the Torah as a bar mitzvah at
Temple Israel on Saturday, Aug. 28.
He is the son of
Paulette and John
Baum, brother of
Stephanie and
grandchild of Joan
and John Baum
and Shirley Radin.
He is also the
grandson of the late
Jules Radin
An all-A student at Walled Lake
Middle School, where he plays on
the basketball team, Andrew is an
avid golfer, plays soccer for the
Michigan Wolves and enjoys music,
computers and ping pong. Mitzvah
projects included volunteering at
Yad Ezra, assisting in the Temple
Israel Media Center and donating to
the Holocaust Memorial Center.
Michael J. Baum will be called to the
Torah as a bar mitzvah on Saturday,
Aug. 28, at Temple
Kol Ami with Rabbi
Norman Roman offi-
ciating.
Michael is the son
of Diane and Alan
Baum, brother of
Andrew, grandson of
Helen and the late
Samuel Baum of
Austin, Texas, and Bernard and Marlene
Margolis of West Bloomfield. Michael is
an honor student at Abbott Middle
School in West Bloomfield, where he
plays trombone in the band. Michael's
interests include music, computers, car-
tooning and football.
Michael's mitzvah projects included
assisting with the Alzheimer
Association's Memory Walk, working
with the Temple Kol Ami's South
Oakland Shelter activities, delivering
meals for Yad Ezra and Meals on
Wheels and collecting bottles to aid
those affected by the hurricane in
Colombia.
At his bar mitzvah, Michael will
recall the memory of Jacques Obrejan, a
French Jewish boy who perished in the
Holocaust and was unable to experience
his bar mitzvah.
Michael Evan Berman will be called to
the Torah as a bar mitzvah on Saturday,
Aug. 28, at
Congregation Shaarey
Zedek.
Participating in the
service will be proud
parents Julie and
Allen Berman, along
with younger sisters
Stephanie and
Allison. Delighted
grandparents are Gloria Rivkin of West
Bloomfield and Norma and Jack
Berman, also of West Bloomfield.
Michael is also the grandson of the late
Fredric Rivkin.
Michael is an honor student at
Orchard Lake Middle School in West
Bloomfield and will be entering the
eighth grade. His hobbies include read-
ing, computers, playing in-line and
street hockey and tennis.
Michael's most memorable mitzvah
projects include volunteering at Yad
Ezra and helping out at Camp Betman.

Congregation Beth Abraham Hillel
Moses. Jarrett is the son of Susan
