Jordan Scott Powell, son of Nancy
and Don Powell of West
Bloomfield, received a Student of
the Week award from the Detroit
Free Press. A senior at Andover
High School, Powell has main-
rained a 3.81 GPA and is a scholar-
athlete in three sports: soccer, bas-
ketball and baseball. He is also a
member of the National Honor
Society and served as a volunteer
tutor for his fellow students.
Pearl and George "Mike" Zeltzer
have been named fellows of
Brandeis University. At a recent cer-
emony, the couple was honored for
their work with Brandeis
University's National Women's
Committee of which Pearl Zeltzer
is a life-long member. The Zeltzers
are also recognized for their contri-
bution to Jewish culture, establish-
ing the Pearl Zeltzer Choreography
Endowment as well as Jewish
Culture Annual Achievement
Awards.
Randi Ellen Gartenberg of
Farmington Hills has completed
the bachelor of medical science in
physician assistant studies degree at
the College of Health Sciences of
Midwestern University in Glendale,
Ariz. Gartenberg is the daughter of
Sydney and Susan Gartenberg.

membership in the
National Society of
Collegiate Scholars
and will be honored

student at the University of Miami
School of Medicine, is one of three
students nationally to be awarded a
fellowship from the American
