Northville, you neglect to mention
what I think is one of the best, Emily's
restaurant. It is situated in an old
house surrounded by a wonderful gar-
den. Inside it is warm, friendly and
unpretentious. The food is fresh and it
seems that only the finest quality is
used. The presentation is outstanding,
and owner/chef Rick Halberg has an
amazing ability of selecting the right
wine with the food he serves. I take
lots of friends and our-of-towners
there and the reaction is always the
same. People love it and say the food
is outstanding."
A CLASS ACT all the way was the
recent opening of Omni Hotel
Detroit, the former River Place Hotel
now sporting a $4.5 million renova-
tion.
Employees smiled with ultimate
courtesy as they walked around wear-
ing Roaring '20s-style garb while
assisting guests.
Omni picked up the tab for every-
thing, as proceeds from the event went
to benefit Variety, The Children's
Charity ... food, decorations, live jazz,
prizes, etc ... The impressive gourmet
brunch was a beauty ... with petite
lobster tails, beef Wellington, oysters
in saffron cream, eggs Oscar, goose
pate, duck terrene, and much more.

Chef Keith Famie ... with the televi-
sion special chronicling Keith's adven-
