the site editors don't confine them-
selves to the traditional learning-and-
matchmaking format of other Gen X
sites.
So there's a provocative essay by
Loolwa Khazzoom, a Persian Jew liv-
ing in Israel, about breaking tradition-
al norms in making contact with the
opposite sex. There's nothing off color
here, but the essay goes several steps
beyond the stilted material in most
organization sites aimed at young peo-
ple.
A "shmooze" area in each section
asks questions sure ro provoke inter-
esting discussions. So in the "relation-
ships" area, the moderators recently
asked this question: "What does the
Torah say about premarital sex?"
There's also a Jewish TV guide —
unfortunately, a little out of date —
and "Cafe J," a chat room for visitors.
The site is attractive, easy to navigate
and without the fluff of so many other
homepages. More importantly, it cap-
tures just the right tone — welcoming
and informative, not preachy.
