Emily is an honor student at Warner Middle School in Farmington Hills. She is a ranked Junior Tennis Player and also enjoys swimming, softball, basketball and skiing. Emily's most meaningful mitzvah project included feeding the guests when Adat Shalom housed the home- less. She has also volunteered with JARC, Yad Ezra, and recently swam for SCAMP. Samantha Megan Alspector (Gavriella) will become a bat mitzvah at Havdala services at Temple Israel on Saturday, Aug. 21. She is the daughter of Shelly and Frank Alspector, sister of Caitlin and granddaughter of Mildred Shatzman. She is also the grandchild of the late Abe Shatzman and the late Hilda and Max Alspector. A Farmington Hills Dunckel Middle School student, Sammi likes horseback riding, swim- ming, computers, music and playing the violin. Among her mitzvah pro- jects was volunteering at Yad Ezra and working at Seedlings, a new activity geared to benefiting blind children. Aaron Daniel Cummins (Aharon) will become a bar mitzvah at Temple Israel on Saturday, Aug. 21. He is the son of Lori Cummins and James Cummins and grandchild of Beverly and Aubrey Gealer and Doreen and Bob Cummins. Proud great-grandmother is Bess Gonte. Among his mitzvah projects was volunteering in the Temple Israel Media Center and assisting handi- capped children. As part of the cele- bration, his grandparents took him to Israel. A Farmington Hills Dunckel Middle School student, Aaron enjoys baseball, computers, snowboarding, water skiing, wakeboarding and in- line skating.
