ENSURE EVENT
In 1995, Troy attorney and West
Bloomfield resident Barry Lipson
and his wife, Debbie, painfully
learned how fragile the life of a
child can be. Their son, Brian, was
born with a rare, life-threatening,
non-genetic condition that allowed
fluids from feeding to enter his
lungs. Thanks to the staff at
Children's Hospital of Michigan,
prompt surgery corrected the
defect.
The Lipsons and friends Matt
Prentice, Bruce Stoller and Don
Tanner created the organization
ENSURE (Endowment for Surgical
Research) to benefit the pediatric
research at Children's Hospital.
On Monday, Aug. 30, ENSURE
will present its third annual Golf
Classic and Auction at Tam
O'Shanter Country Club in West

POPULAR DEMAND.

It took a public outcry and an act of Congress to save the gray wolf

from literally vanishing off the face of the earth. But we did it. Today,

a lot of other creatures face similar extinction. And unless we step up

our efforts to protect their habitats, they may not be so lucky. At the

Sierra Club, we've mounted

a

major campaign to defend the

Endangered Species Act and preserve threatened habitats before their

inhabitants are gone forever. Please, contact us to find out how you

can help protect threatened and endangered animals. Because no

amount of popular demand can bring an extinct species back to life.
