From adolescents to young adults,
AZA and BBG help Jewish teens grow up.

Jewish youngsters have had the same
experience. Many later found distinc-
tion in the fields of lave, science, poli-
tics, academics, theater and the arts.
Famous alumni of BBYO include
game show host Monty Hall,
Watergate journalist Carl Bernstein
and actors Ed Asner and Leonard
Nimoy.
Some of the local leaders who
honed their .leadership skills in metro
Detroit BBYO chapters are former
Jewish Federation president Robert
Naftaly, Jewish community activist

On the verge of his teenage years,
the dark-haired, dark-eyed 17-year-
old was intelligent and articulate, but
not confident. He was cute and
charming, but felt unable to talk, to
girls. He had a slight interest in
sports, but little
ability.
He was, in every
sense of the word,
an adolescent trying
to fit in.
Noveck, the son
of Carol Winokur
and Daniel Noveck,
has now completed
his term as presi-
dent of the Sammy
Davis Jr. AZA
chapter as well as
his junior year at
Birmingham
Seaholm High
School. He is
embarking on his
second term as AZA
regional sopher,
which includes edit-
ing a newspaper.

school-senior, he is
preparing his col-
lege applications,
listing a plethora of
activities that
wouldn't have hap-
pened without the
B'nai B'rith Youth
