poignancy of my feelings as a real moth-
er with the comedy of her fanaticism,"

If anyone is prepared for hard work to
bring success, it's Lin Shaye. She learned
early on to pay attention to the business
side of acting, an important factor many
performers ignore. Now with an assertive
agent, as well as a manager and publicist,
she's learning to delegate.
"I don't want to completely relin-
quish control," she says, "because I
think you do better in your life if you
maintain control. It's a team effort,
but I'm still driving the car.
"It's been helped along," she con-
tinues, by this drive I have about my
work. It's not so much my career, but
my work. I've got to do this thing."
In addition to a dramatic film role,
as a mother dying of lung cancer in
the upcoming Spanish Moss, Shaye
plans to return to the stage this fall,
working in the same Los Angeles the-
ater company where she met her sec-
ond husband, actor Clayton Landey.
She speaks with obvious pride
about their 10-year-old son, 'who is
enthusiastically attending both Sunday
school and Hebrew school in Los
Angeles. The family is hoping to have
his bar mitzvah in Israel.
When Shaye talks about her pas-
sion for acting, it's not hard to imag-
ine that enthusiasm carrying over into
all aspects of her life. -
"I love it all," she proclaims, "I'm
just a junkie for it. I really am. I just
can't wait for the next thing." [1
