Apples And Honey
Coming Up Aug. 29

The annual Apples and Honey and
Lots, Lots More will take place 1:30-
4:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 29, in the West
Bloomfield lobby of the D. Dan &
Betty Kahn Building of the Jewish
Community Center of Metropolitan
Detroit. The event is co-sponsored by
Jewish Experiences For Families, a divi-
sion of the Agency for Jewish Education,
the Jewish News and the JCC.
In the JEFF sukka, children of all
ages can make a stuffed Torah, their own
ushpizin guest book (for the seven mysti-
cal visitors to the sukka, according to
kabbalistic tradition) and create an edi-
ble sukka.
The afternoon includes a perfor-
mance by the Festival Dancers with
artistic director Harriet Berg, a sing-
along led by Lisa Soble Siegmann and
an Apple Moon Walk. Educational
materials will be available.
A Shofar-making Factory for ages 8
and older costs $10 per shofar; reserva-
tions are required. Volunteers are need-
ed. For information, call the Agency for
Jewish Education, (248) 354-1050.

Our My Window on the WorldTM and Once Upon
A Time' programs help preschoolers get a leg up.

We provide them with activities in math, reading, science and music. And since young
children learn best through hands-on-experience, it's a good idea to involve their feet; too.
