Eilu V Btu is a recipient of the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit's Max M. Fisher Jewish Community Foundation. ELUL - A TIME TO PREPARE Adult Jewish Learning for the Days of Awe According to Jewish tradition, Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur do not exist in a vacuum but are, rather, the culmination of an intense process of reflection, study, and self-evaluation during the month of Elul, which begins this year on the night of Wednesday, August 11. During these four weeks preceding Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish people, as individuals and as a community, are called upon to examine our lives and prepare our hearts for the Days of Awe. To help each of us fulfil this obligation, Eilu v' Eilu presents "ELUL - A TIME TO PREPARE," an adult Jewish study series on themes of the season, featuring some of our community's most dynamic Jewish educators. We encourage you to come and learn during the month of Elul and to invite colleagues, friends, and family members to be your study companions on this spiritual adventure. Our series will include day and evening classes at various locations throughout Metro Detroit. Except where otherwise noted, all of our Elul learning events are free of charge and advance registration is encouraged but not required. COME AND LEARN LEARN AT HOME OR ON THE GO WITH TORAH TAPES If you want to learn but cannot get to classes, Ellu v' Ellu can help. You can enjoy stimulating adult Jewish study at home or in your car, in the form of audiocassette tapes which we lend out at no charge. We have many tapes on high holiday topics.
