singing throughout the evening. The
concert featured updated versions of
traditional songs, Debbie's composi-

Although we have heard her several
times, she never sounded better. The
energy from her band to the audience
created a magical moment that will be
a lifetime memory 'for all in atten-

program for our community and our

Great Concert
At Beth El

What can anyone say about wonder-
ful, charitable people like Mr. and
Mrs. Harry Nosanchuk, who brought
Cantor Alan Croll from Dallas to per-
form at Temple Beth El for mostly
seniors?
What a voice! Cantor Croll's per-
formance was magnificent on July 18.
A large crowd at the sanctuary, folks
from all over and seniors from nurs-
ing homes with their attendants, the
lovely volunteers from the Temple
who helped all — it was a concert to
remember.
Thanks to all the wonderful bene-
factors who don't forget the people
who couldn't afford affairs of this
kind without their generosity. •

Judith Bolton-Fasman's article "Con-

fronting The Past" (July 30) about
Gottfried Wagner was an insightful
and educational discussion of one
man's break with his family's anti-
Semitic and Nazi past.
We applaud Gottfried Wagner's
.courage in turning his great-grandfa-
ther Richard Wagner's lamentable
legacy into a positive program of
Holocaust awareness. Imagine our
shock upon seeing a notice at the end
of the article advertising a Detroit
Symphony Orchestra performance of
the music of Richard Wagner. This
was either an example or breathtaking
editorial stupidity or, more likely, the
