be date of opening around the end of
August or first part of September ...
Another arm of the one-time Larco's
Inn will then open to much-awaited
anticipation.
Mike is the son of Pete Larco, one
of the three late Larco brothers (with
Mike and Nick) who owned the won-
derful Larco's Italian restaurant on W.
McNichols and San Juan in Detroit ...
Another son, Mark, has the Larco's in
Troy.
Mike Larco Ristorante will seat
about 120 in Simsbury Plaza ... with
dishes that will hopefully follow very
closely along the lines of those put out
by Mike's father and uncles.
FIRST SHOWING of The Life &
Times of Hank Greenberg by Aviva
Kempner, is one for the "must see" list
by many ... It's set for Thursday, Sept.
9, 7:30 p.m., at the Maple Theatre,
Telegraph and Maple ... hosted by
Michigan Jewish Sports Hall of Fame.

Airport, on Main Street in downtown
Belleville, is the newly-opened Bayou
Grill which has been capturing much
attention ... It is owned by Yhianni
Christodoulou and Chef Ernest
Prokos, the latter a winner of many
culinary awards ... Their menu offer-
ings are for lovers of Cajun food a la
New Orleans style.

Chocolate Chimichanga ... at Bogey's
Bar & Grill, East Walled Lake Drive
... A chocolate tortilla shell wrapped
around a Hershey chocolate bar, then
lightly fried to soften the candy and
topped with a scoop of vanilla ice
cream, chocolate sauce and whipped
cream ... Never tried it, but talked to a
couple of people who did and they're
still on a cloud over the dessert.
I did have the barbecued grilled
salmon, though in disbelief that such
good things were on the interesting
menu ... The eight-ounce salmon, just
enough, with rice pilaf and steamed
vegetables, is flaky and delicious ... It
also comes with soup or salad ...
