A Star Prelude
Carolina Herrera showcases her fashions for
"Under the Stars Gala )0(."
The traditional blessing of the children is
silkscreened in 22K gold onto softly
colored fused glass. Tiny chais, symbolic
of life, are embedded in the glass,
making this the perfect mezuzah for
the new arrival.

Developer David Johnson of
Bloomfield Hills welcomed retailers,
homeowners and patrons to a benefit
for the Little Traverse Bay
Conservancy. After he greeted the
crowd, hundreds of blue and white
balloons floated over the harbor for a
spectacular sight.
Enhancing and conserving the
environment was a major concern of
Johnson and partner CMS Energy
Corporation Chairman Bill
McCormick. The five miles of Lake
Michigan shoreline was transformed
from an abandoned cement plant and
limestone quarry into an awesome
mix of multi-million dollar homes,
hotel, golf club, yacht club and
equestrian club.

bonfire at dusk. The party continued
the next day with a lakeside breakfast
and volleyball game.
Cousin Jennifer Strausz of
Southfield was a bridesmaid. Also in
attendance were Richard, Brenda and
Michael Strausz. The bride's grand-
mother is former Detroiter Belle
Rudin.
