Ryan Tapper on Detroit's Teen Mission
to Israel last year
Israel as the, single most important fac-
tor in promoting Jewish continuity and
Jewish identity in our young adults.
A close second in importance is Jew-
ish camping.! The summers of camping
experience encompassed within a Judaic
environment, integrated with an intense
Israel teen experience phased in at an
age-appropriate time, combine to solidi-
& a Jewish identity.
While there is no guarantee regard-
ing each child's future Jewish commit-
ment, anything we can do to further
secure a Jewish identity is paramount.
We have a community in Detroit that
can be proud of its commitment to
Israel teen trips, Jewish camping and
Jewish day schools.
