Installs Officers
Hadassah President Melba Winer
installed Beverly W. Apel for a sec-
ond term as president of the greater
Detroit Chapter of Hadassah at a
recent special event.
Installed with Apel were members

and officers of each Hadassah group.
Executive officers installed were vice
president of communications,
Barbara J. Moretsky; vice president
of fundraising, Shirley Robbins; vice
president of membership, Judi
Schram; vice president of organiza-
tion, Susan Luria; vice president of
program/education, Marcia
' Bednarsh; treasurer, Ellen
Rothenberg; president elect, Elaine
Sturman; immediate past president,
Hilary Isakow. Also serving on this
committee will be executive director
Evelyn Diskin.
A series of chapter awards were
presented to volunteers for achieve-
ments and dedication to Hadassah
/ the past year. Beverly Apel presented
the Love of a Lifetime Award to
Ellen Rothenberg for being a life
member who created an efficient
management system; the Woman of
the Year award to Shirley Robbins
who helped raise funds for Hadassah
programs; Young Women/Young
Leaders Awards to Wendy
,_ Kohlenberg, Randi Simko and Dr.
7.2 Michelle Rochlen for leadership
abilities.
Chapter awards were also present-
ed to Eleanor Smith for her leader-
ship in the doll project, and to
Check-It-Out project co-chairs
Barbara Ben and Beverly Fine, breast
cancer survivor Sue Haidys and
Linda Diaz of Grace-Sinai for edu-
• cating female high school juniors and

seniors about the importance of
breast self-exams.
