MOSS — criminal law attorney, volunteer firefighter and electronics buff — died June 28. The Farmington Hills resident was 41. "He loved his family, loved prac- ticing law and loved people," said sister Lora Roth. She added: "He strove for excel- lence and searched for happiness. He was a warm, positive soul who used charisma to charm. He was a giving man who loved gadgets and elec- tronic wizardry." The Detroit native and Bloomfield Hills schools graduate played drums in a band during his teen years. Later, while attending American University in Washington, Mr. Moss interned for U.S. Sen. Howard Metzenbaum of Ohio, U.S. Rep. John Dingle of Michigan and Ronald Reagan's Presidential Advance Team at the White House. The last internship provided "the fabulous experience of riding in the presidential motorcade," said his sister. As a first-year law student at Detroit College of Law, Mr. Moss ran for Southfield City Council, los- ina by only 204 votes. b Mr. Moss built a career as a crim- inal law attorney, which included membership in the State Bar of Michigan, Criminal Defense Association and Oakland County Bar Association. He also served as a volunteer firefighter in Franklin for 15 years while "giving of himself," his sister said. Survivors include wife Beth, son Joshua and twins Emma and Noah; mother Mildred Moss; sisters and brothers-in-law Dr. Sara Moss and Richard Weiner, Lora Roth and Dr. Steven Roth. He was the loving son of the late Dr. Leslie Moss. Interment at Adat Shalom Memorial Park.
