died June 22.
Mrs. Freud was a professor of social
work at the University of Michigan.
She is survived by her cousins, Dr.
John and Nancy Freud of Monroe.

RALPH GOLD, 62, of Southfield, died
June 22.
He is survived by his sons and daugh-

MELVIN P. HARRIS, 72, of
Southfield, died June 21. He was a self-
employed produce wholesaler.
Mr. Harris is survived by his wife,
Alice Shulman Harris; son and daugh-
ter-in-law Dr. Stanley and Susan Harris
of Connecticut; daughters and sons-in-
law Karen and Mark Campeotto of
Southfield, Joanna and Jefferson Tuttle
of Royal Oak; son-in-law Paul Lloyd;
grandchildren Seth and Julie Harris; sis-
ter and brother-in-law Belrose and Louis
Landgarten of Ohio.
Mr. Harris was the beloved husband
of the late Beatrice S. Harris and the
loving father of the late Lynda Harris.
Interment at Adat Shalom Memorial

DR. STUART A. KARMANN, 75, of
Delray Beach, Fla., died June 22.
Dr. Karmann owned and operated
Rochester Optical Center, retiring in
1988. He was a member of the
American Optometric Association and a
Mason. He graduated from Northern
Illinois College of Optometry after
attending the University of Michigan.
During World War II, he served as a
officer in Italy and North Africa in the;
Army Air Corp, earning the
Distinguished Flying Cross and Air
Medal.
He is survived by his wife, Jeraldine;
sons and daughters-in-law Mitchell and
Louise, Bruce and Margo, Paul and
Jennifer; daughter and son-in-law Debr
and Rod Gardner; grandchildren Jill,
Sarah, Juliana, Tess, Lauren, Jake and r '
Emily Gardner.
