Gayle Harte of Royal Oak, owner of
Gayle's Chocolates, was among the
group of women entrepreneurs
recently honored by state legislators
in recognition of national
"Entrepreneur Action Day: Women
Lead the Way." State Rep. Gilda Z.
Jacobs (D-Huntington Woods) chose
Harte for the honor. A candy maker
for 20 years, Harte started out as a
home-based business. She later
expanded into a successful-retail-
wholesale business in downtown
Royal Oak.
