Part of the change includes a new branding system by which all advertis- ing, signs, literature and invitations will feature the phrase, "This is Federation." The Allied Jewish Campaign came into being in 1926, when Federation was established. "As Federation begins to more actively market itself and the United Jewish Foundation, it was felt that change in appearance was called for," said Howard Dembs, marketing and communications director. The Federated Endowment Fund will be known as the Jewish Community Endowment Fund. The new name reflects collaborative efforts by Federation, the Foundation and other agencies involved with the endowment fund. Federation is the central communal organization of the Detroit Jewish community.
